So where did I get this name,  The Ribbit, anyway?  I’m Amy Wood, and I anchor on News Channel 7 and the interactive CW NEWS at Ten, where we make PLENTY of noise, with one of the nation’s first live chats.

My daughter Gracie’s stuffed frog and a childhood memory of my own, served as my inspiration for the The Ribbit!

I was still in elementary school,  probably 7 or 8 years old, when my friends and I were playing around a small pond at their house in Connecticut.

At that age it really wasn’t about the pond.  We were pirates and princesses, conquering the world. 

But noises at that pond interrupted our imaginary world.

You couldn’t help but hear it, when it started. 

First one.  Then another.   Before you knew it, there was a  chorus of croaks!  

The pond bullfrogs were putting on a noisey show.  Now I call it… Frog Chat!

Certainly TheRibbit sounds more catchy than a website named Croak!
